My husband is starting school this year and will commence his MBA, after taking a break from his 6 year long career.Since I have already done MBA, but am comparatively a fresher, in terms of career advancement, I often wonder whether the educational degree or experience matter more in success..There are people who feel school, degree and education make lot of difference in one's life. There are those who believe that life itself is the best teacher. And again, in today's competitive world, there are majority who would agree that to achieve success, one requires a right blend of education as well as practical experience.Very often, school is a place of fun, friendship and of course learning. It moulds one's personality such that the challenges ahead seem conquerable. However, we do come across people in our day to day lives, who do not have any formal degree or education, but can outwit and outperform others, simply because they have learnt the real lessons of life, the hard way.Hence, the very purpose of education can be questioned. One cannot deny the fact that education is indeed very important, but then, when and where does the real learning happen?on campus or school grounds or out there, in the market, or in life's demanding situations??That is the point the educationists should take further and ensure that there is a right mix of practical real life learning as well as fundamental truths in the education system..
